Subject: Re: Picketing Wed., Feb. 21 and Fri., Feb. 23. - Article on the Protests - Rally Feb. 28!

Hi, Anne,

I can't make it Wednesday as I would like because I have to make it down to the LAB meeting in San Jose. I hope a good number of us are out there on Wednesday. The pressure, with all the other demonstrations in Century City (LA), Newark, Manhattan and DC this week, following the sit ins, and disruptions of EBG seminar here in SF and in NYC is bound to be being felt in their board room. Do they really need this much bad publicity and ongoing scrutiny?

Speaking of bad publicity, I just spoke to a reporter from the legal newspaper the Daily Journal, based in San Francisco, who is writing an article on the protests, particularly those centered on Epstein! They sent a photographer as some of you know to shoot us on Friday, so I hope that we will be able to get our message out to the legal community and that Epstein will lose face as a result. One hopes.

But this is all a result of YOUR coming out and protesting. If we hadn't I doubt the Daily Journal would have noticed the dispute. That live human beings would stand and protest something so abstract as FREE SPEECH and community radio against a faceless corporate entity like Epstein, Becker and Green has obviously inspired some people to notice. This - whatever is written in the article - is a great thing and I'm very proud to stand and protest with everyone who has come out!

See you on the picket line again very soon! By the way, please CALL KPFA and ASK that the "protest cart" be played - it's no longer in regular rotation at the station and will only be played if you ask for it. So please call the on-air studio number when they are not talking at 848-4425 and ask for them to play it. Thanks a lot.

PS - Please all make plans to come out Wednesday, Feb. 28, 11:30-1 pm to picket, rally and protest at EBG on the 2nd anniversary of the illegal bylaws changes! Tell your friends, anyone involved with unions (EBG is a union-buster), any artists, puppetmakers, or other free spirits who think the community should have a voice and who can come out.
